Help Us Expand the List
Join us in gathering data on natural, cultural, and built assets within the Carpinteria Valley and the City of Carpinteria. Check the list below and let us know what is missing. Contact us; your insight is important.
- Tangible Assets: These include museums, historical sites, theaters, art centers, public art, cultural organizations, landmarks, and natural heritage sites, such as the Carpinteria Salt Marsh.
- Intangible Assets: These include the community’s stories, traditions, cultural practices, and networks that define its unique identity.
The Explore Carpinteria community asset mapping initiative relies on extensive public outreach, education, and transparency to create an interactive online map cataloging the community’s physical assets, including natural heritage (parks, trails, and open spaces), cultural heritage (arts, museums, and cultural facilities), and built heritage (historic sites, landmarks, and monuments). Some assets do not fit exclusively into one category.
